Having a balanced sinkage can play a critical role in how firm and supportive a mattress feels. The Emma Comfort Mattress excels at this. From my tests, I recorded a sinkage of 2.2 inches. This is moderate enough that my limbs were cushioned, yet I was still supported, and my spine was level.

The Emma Comfort Mattress had slightly more sinkage than the Emma Diamond, with a difference of 0.22 inches. I would recommend the Emma Diamond Mattress for a slightly firmer sensation while sleeping. A quick response may also be helpful for back pain. According to my review, the Emma Comfort Mattress took just 0.2 seconds to regain its shape from compressions. I could change from my back to my side without any delay or extra effort. This means I can focus more on resting my back instead of struggling with my mattress.

The Emma Comfort Mattress had a faster response than the Emma Diamond by 0.3 seconds. I would recommend the Emma Comfort Mattress to sleepers who want as little fuss as possible when changing their sleep position.

Bounce is also helpful and may be beneficial for back pain. It ties into response and allows for seamless movement that doesn’t put pressure on the back. In light of my tests, I measured a total bounce of 11.5 inches. I could get in and out of bed with minimal effort.

Coolness is an understated feature and is imperative for mattresses that may help with back pain. The latex in the Peace Lily does exceptionally with this due to the inherent lack of heat absorption in the latex. According to my tests, I measured a temperature of 30.3 degrees Celsius. I was refreshingly cool no matter the temperature outside at night.

The Peace Lily was unmatched when it came to coolness compared to the Emma Comfort. There was a difference between them of 1.4 degrees. I would recommend the Peace Lily Mattress to sleepers who find themselves sleeping hot at night.

Having slightly less sinkage indicates a firmer sleep surface, which may be beneficial to sleepers with sore backs. In light of my tests, I measured a sinkage of 2.01 on the Peace Lily’s medium side and 1.87 inches on its firm side. On both sides, I found I had enough support to ensure my back, lumbar, and spine were straight and tension-free.

The Peace Lily’s firm side had 0.11 inches less sinkage than the Emma Diamond, making the Peace Lily slightly firmer. I would recommend the Peace Lily to sleepers who want an emphasis on spinal support and comfort.

Edge support is another beneficial feature of the Peace Lily. From my review, I noted a sinkage at the edge of only 4.01 inches on its firm side. I felt secure enough to sit at the edge without thinking I might slip off.

The Peace Lily had better edge support than the Emma Diamond by 0.09 inches. I would recommend the Peace Lily slightly more to sleepers who want assurance when sitting along the edges.

Graphite foam does an excellent job of driving heat away from the body, helping you keep your temperature neutral. In light of my test, the Emma Diamond Hybrid had a temperature of 31.3 degrees Celsius. I could stay sweat-free at night without much issue.

Graphite doesn’t hold up as well as latex, as the Peace Lily was cooler by 1 degree. I would recommend the Peace Lily for sleepers who want the ultimate solution for a cool sleep.

Balanced sinkage is another feature I’d like to point out. In my tests with the Emma Diamond Hybrid Mattress, I noted a sinkage of 1.98 inches. This is deep enough to provide a relieving contour to my back yet firm enough to ensure the hips and spine are aligned and neutral.

This is 0.22 inches firmer than the Emma Comfort mattress, making the Emma Diamond slightly better for a firm sleep surface. I would recommend the Emma Diamond to any sleeper who’s looking for a contouring yet firm and supportive night’s rest.

Motion isolation mainly applies to couples who share a mattress. Through my tests, I measured a motion isolating capacity of 4 inches between the glass of water and approaching compressions. This is low enough that I could toss and turn, and my partner would only feel minimal nudges.

The Emma Diamond Hybrid Mattress outperforms the Peace Lily regarding motion isolation by a long margin - about 4 inches of difference. I would recommend the Emma Diamond to sleepers who share the bed with a restless couple.
